Star sighting!

I just got a phone call from Kenyan...He was just driving by East High School and saw Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron out dancing in front of the school. And they had some kind of banner hung up saying something about "Goodbye Graduates." So if any of you crazy fans want to go watch them film "High School Musical 3"......rush on down!!

Cougar on the loose!

Yesterday there was a cougar roaming around in West Jordan. The school I teach at was not one of the schools listed as being warned about the cougar, but we were and we had to keep all the kids inside.

I did tell my kids why they said they couldn't go outside. So then when they said it was an outside day again my drama queens kicked in....
"I don't want to go outside."
"I'm freaked out now!"
I told them that if they said it was an outside day it was because it was safe to go outside and the cougar had been caught. They still didn't buy it. One of them said, "I'm going to do something mean so I don't have to go to recess." Another one of them said, "I just hit _______, do I have to go outside now?" Lol!!! Seriously.

I found a picture on KSL and showed it to them of the cougar being caught and they were finally ok with it and would go outside.

You learn something new everyday!

My class went on a field trip to the Clark Planetarium today and had the "Skywatch" program in the dome theater. It was excellent! I loved it, and more importantly, so did the kids.

Anyhow, this is what I learned today:

The brightest star in the night sky.....Sirius

This star, Sirius, is part of the constellation...Canis Major (The Dog Star)

Sirius Black changed into what animal in Harry Potter? A dog!

J.K. Rowling was a pretty smart lady!

By the way....Bellatrix is also a star, the third brightest star in Orion-"The Hunter"

In Memory of My Grandma

My grandma passed away yesterday morning. She was a wonderful woman and I'm glad she is back with my grandpa. We are so happy for the reunion they are having even though we will miss her.

My dad told Kenyan and me to still go to the Jazz game and to cheer hard for grandma....she was a Jazz fan.

So, Grandma, I cheered my guts out for you! And they won!

The newest graduate!

Kenyan graduated in Business Finance from the U on Friday! It was a long day, but definitely worth it.

Kenyan's sister, Crystal, also graduated on Friday in Psychology.

I decorated the house and surprised Kenyan the night before graduation. I had Roger (of Roger's Bakery) make him a brownie (Kenyan's favorite), and it turned out perfectly!

It was the best day ever, and I was the proudest wife there. He's worked long and hard for this and it was a wonderful day.

It was yummy!

Proud U graduates...but I don't think they'll miss it that much!

I almost forgot...

I found out yesterday my sister-in-law is having a girl! My brother really wanted another boy because he's always been outnumbered by the girls, but apparently it's not meant to be. Sorry Doug! He knows he'll still love this one to death too!

It's the Little Things

Yes, it's 5:15 in the morning and I am wide awake! So I figured I could talk about something. :)

I went to my first team leader meeting yesterday for the new elementary school....I am so stinkin' excited! It's the little things that make me happy, like having a mounted projected in my room, an audio system, and no more overheads! Instead we get machines that you can put anything on and the kids can see it up on the screen. (The colleges use them and they are fantastic!)

My friend Amy and I get to order all the PE equipment. I know that sounds lame, but I can make sure I get some of the things I have to have for certain PE activities: Bean bag frogs, a giant ball to play Indiana Jones with, scooters, Speed Stackers....

It is definitely the little things that make me happy!
