You learn something new everyday!

My class went on a field trip to the Clark Planetarium today and had the "Skywatch" program in the dome theater. It was excellent! I loved it, and more importantly, so did the kids.

Anyhow, this is what I learned today:

The brightest star in the night sky.....Sirius

This star, Sirius, is part of the constellation...Canis Major (The Dog Star)

Sirius Black changed into what animal in Harry Potter? A dog!

J.K. Rowling was a pretty smart lady!


By the way....Bellatrix is also a star, the third brightest star in Orion-"The Hunter"
